Day 20: Surveys

Surveys measure opinions and trends among a particular population. The introduction explains the purpose of the survey, assures anonymity, and thanks the participant. Questions or statements can be answered in different ways, depending on what data is sought: direct text for blunt answers, a ranking to gauge relative thought from least to most, a multiple choice in order of importance to indicate preferences. Demographic questions at the end can indicate gender and age trends.

Guassian bell curve  shows where the start and finish are easy
and the middle is where the harder, thinking questions
would be placed. In this way the participants ease
into the survey and finish happily.
A big consideration when building a survey is to make the early questions easy so the participant eases into the survey with nonthreatening questions. The harder ones (the thinkers) come in the middle before easing up again toward the ending where the demographic questions are.

The survey structure resembles a Guassian bell curve.
