Taking Tally

Thomas Jefferson kept tabs on his gardens from year to year by noting dates and growth numbers for his plants in a notebook. By doing this day by day, he generated a book of days -- a documentation of what happened and did not happen at Monticello. Since he and his gardeners had a record of previous years' action, they could plan and prepare for the future.

Baseball games involves ledgers too, much like a
gardener would keep tabs on growth patterns of plants.

A list of numbers and notes, over time, can build into a book of days. In the research book of days, the research lessons will be the main pages with minor pages being the actions that accumulate from the lessons.

Keep taking tally!
