Initially I was planning to decoupage the interior of the gourd with wrapping paper that has images of books on bookshelves. However, upon reflection I ask myself what would more suitable? Would decoupaged references pages of old books be better? That would introduce the element of citations and how research is about proof and justifications. I'd have to find some old, discarded books with references done in APA format...a scientific, scholarly book. This one is done with plastic eggs. MmMmm.....
After some thought and scavenging I decided to go with the APA citations on the inside of the gourd. I sliced the pages from two discarded books, tore the citations into pieces, and adhered them to the inside of the gourd lid and bowl. Once dry, I'll work on the exterior.
