Essential Question option: 3-ply Book of Days

The TV show, Office, had an episode where the workers were subjected to absurd lengths of cost efficiency efforts. One objective was to make toilet paper last longer by producing two 1-ply rolls of toilet paper out of one 2-ply roll. Referring back to the previous post, if empty toilet paper rolls can be made into 'chapters of thought', the daily meditations could be tabbed together and fit into an empty roll. This marks 1) the daily thoughts and 2) how many days it takes to empty a roll of toilet paper. This would produce 2 layers of information, essentially making a 2-ply roll from two 1-ply rolls.

Essential Question option: In what ways could a Book of Days provide 3 or more layers of information?

Making two 1-ply rolls out of one roll of 2-ply.
Can it be reversed to produce luxury rolls of 2-ply
out of skimpy 1-ply rolls?
