Day 6: Types of Research

The types of research determine the types of questions. There are 3 types of research: descriptive, historical, and experimental. Descriptive research* describes how things are now; historical research explains how things were in the past; experimental research explains cause-and-effect.  How would these types of research affect a project about Book of Days?  The questions move the research target from today to tomorrow to experiments.

A Book of Days for now.
Descriptive Research --
How are things today?

What kinds of Book of Book Days are being written today?
How are Book of Days promoted in bookstores?
How do current events impact a Book of Book Days?

A Book of Days can have
 historical significance.
Historical Research --
How were things in the past?

What were the Book of Days like in the US colonial times?
How did women write and use a Book of Days?
How were religious Book of Days sold during the Civil War?

Experimental Research --
How do factors affect something?
How does the size of a Book of Days impact desirability?
What type of writing sells a Book of Days?
How does age and gender impact Books of Days?
A lot of books, a lot of days. What to do?
